I woke up to two men on my couches ;-) Our friends from Cold Lake are in visiting with two of their four kids. They arrived on Thursday and I think are staying until Monday since it's a long weekend here. Last night, I sent mom and dad out for the evening and I entertained the 6 and 8 year old. I'm out of practice it seems, but we had fun.

Today's plan is a haircut/colour/wax for me this morning, then girls night out for supper tonight. The boys are going to take the three kids to Chuckie Cheese, a place where no woman should ever go.

I love long weekends.

*yawn* It's morning, what happened to a relaxing evening after work?

I tried making stuffed peppers again last night and they were awesome. The last time I made them was probably 10 years ago and I had thought they were horrid. We had no leftovers this time, and everyone was happy.

We put Ethan's new bed in a week or so ago and since then, he's only been up once in the night. Apparently he is very happy and this makes me happy. The first couple of nights, I was up and down waiting for him to get up. Funny how kids can mess with your mind.

We've decided to have our spy watch at the mall for the next two weeks and see if he is in the wheelchair, so we have concrete facts when we confront the school. Then I will be like a bull in a china shop. I was so pissed off yesterday when I heard about the chair. He's worked too hard at building his strength for this to happen now.

I spent most of last night helping my niece and her friend with their homework. First we built them resumes and cover letters for CALM class, and then moved on to English and their poetry unit. They had mid terms this week and are kind of stressed about it. I guess if I had actually studied in high school, I would have been too ;-)

Feeling a little better each day. Other than taking Ethan to the Circus on Saturday, I didn't do much of anything but lie in bed or on the couch, just resting. I still have the headache which I hope will go away soon. I'm working another bingo tonight since I can't find anyone to take my place.

I feel millions of miles away from what everyone is up to these days.

Fundraising fun

It was one hell of alot of work, but the fundraiser was a success and we made approximately $5,500.00. We had a full house with a little over 150 people and ended up with 184 items in the silent auction.

A few items that were interesting and started bidding wars were: a 12 hour ride along with a city detective, Team Canada Rugby Jersey, dinner for four at a nice restaurant, a 20 week session from Creative Memories, and a couple of spa gift certificates... just to mention a few.

I have a few bid sheets to follow up on today for people who won, but had left, and then after returning some liquor that was unopened, I have to do a final accounting. At the next meeting, I'll ask for a volunteer to take on the next one and hand everything over. I wonder how many people will volunteer?

Since I haven't been on since earlier in the week, did I miss anything around here?

A man went into a pharmacy and asked to talk to a male pharmacist. The woman he was talking to said that she was the pharmacist and that she and her sister owned the store, so there were no males employed there.

She then asked if there was something which she could help the gentleman with. The man said that it was something that he would be much more comfortable discussing with a male pharmacist.
The female pharmacist assured him that she was completely professional and whatever it was that he needed to discuss, he could be confident that she would treat him with the highest level of professionalism.

The man agreed and began by saying, "This is tough for me to discuss, but I have a permanent erection. It causes me a lot of problems and severe embarrassment. So I was wondering what you could give me for it?"

The pharmacist said, "Just a minute, I"ll go talk to my sister."

When she returned, she said, "We discussed it at length, and the absolute best we can do is, 1/3 ownership in the store, a company car, and $3,000 a month living expenses.

We lost a wonderful woman in our Province yesterday. Lois Hole, our Lieutenant Governor passed away from stomach cancer. She was like royalty here because of her beauty and because she believed all were equal.

My brother worked for the Hole family at their farm and garden centre and said she really was a lovely person who was great to work for.
